Sometimes you have to scrap everything and start again. That is the case with my blog. After years and years of leaving it without any real attention to it, the site had slowly grown out of date. The platform was out of support and upgrading in place was not working. The WordPress site needed an update and there were parts that needed improvement. So, it was time to scrap the entire thing and start again.
That’s probably a good thing because over the course of time, things have changed. The technology is improved. I’ve learned a lot and needed to apply that learning. Finally, it was time for some fresh ideas and a more active cadence of posts. The last part is something I’ve got to learn to accomplish and spend more time in. There’s a lot I have to say and quite honestly I’ve been bottling it up. This blog is a way to get those thoughts out.
I will also be rebuilding my Tech blog from the ground up again, but right now I need to focus on this blog as it helps me build not only the platform, but the site’s infrastructure. It also gave me a chance to go back and clean up several loose ends around the AWS instance. Just like things you accumulate around a house, I was doing the same with this site and realized it when I went back and started the build out.
I’m looking forward to posting more and the posts should start evolving with more images and content. But it will take some time to get there so don’t expect the first few to be that exciting. Anyway, it’s time to get back to work.
